Debra's Music

Explore Debra's vibrant collection of music recorded in
2014-2021 that may inspire and entertain your creative spirit.

Debra’s father’s side had self-taught, talented musicians. Variance of genres, techniques of flowery improvisation around melodies filled Debra’s home growing up. Windsor, Ontario is close to Detroit, Michigan and both always delivered to Debra diverse concerts year round. Music was the glue that kept Debra’s family together (besides her mother). They shared their most recent favorites, jammed together until members suddenly died! Music was a sane friend when all alone in Brazil at 17. It has always soothed her soul. Sitting at the piano, with sheet music or not, piano was a source of relaxation while singing and playing with both hands. Debra therefore always enjoyed teaching music and learning more instruments!

Instinctively, during cancer, Debra needed to sing, so she joined a ladies’ Acapella group called, Alberta Gold and was gratefully made a bass singer as there were very few and she could reach low C. Besides, after chemo, the brain fog disallowed her to visually track and follow tenor or alto lines. The last line was less blurry so she enjoyed this time immensely.

Soon she felt the need to make an album dedicating songs to her loved ones especially those who assisted her during her cancer journey. In 2014, Nino Palazollo, Deb’s high school band teacher became her vocal coach, accompanist, arranger and producer of 9 tracks For her album, Dedications, which she hopes to complete in 2025, as a final item on her bucket list in Mexico! She is currently seeking assistance with this project locally.

In 2024, it was time to go solo. Deb hauled her speakers, computer, percussive instruments to organic markets, art exhibits and restaurants. Her repertoire is her own songs, covers, Healing songs from Temazcals, warrior r &r tunes and divine feminine chants. She prides herself in remembering lyrics in 4 languages BEFORE chemo...after...forget it. Tips came in but she knew she needed to improve her sound and elicited some help from friends. Is it possible in neuro-plasticity to return to how, in her twenties, she was able to sing the lyrics while playing the piano’s right hand melody and left hand chords, with back up singers in front of 250 people with no jitters and no stumbles?

To see, she bought an electric keyboard, a mixer and a monitor. Unfortunately the sea air and technical challenges did not make piano a relaxing experience like her Wultzer was, so, practicing by herself waned as she “allowed” the state of the world in 2025 to overwhelm her, then Rob died.

Rob was the kindest man she had ever met. He wrote her 67 love poems and 6 love songs which Debra has recorded here. Listen with baited breath for “Debra, Dance With Me!” by Rob Barber. Debra Breeze’s YouTube channel holds her two songs.** One is her original she wrote with Rob’s quirky riff called, “Ledges and Perches” using a bird analogy to illustrate how they were there for each other. The other is Rob’s favorite Jane Siberry tune, “Love is Everything.” This love-video was Deb’s attempt to convince Rob to leave the country with her to seek a healthier life. He had never left Canada before and opted to stay. She believes Rob was born with a dark energy called Thalidimide.

Deb and Rob were both physically highly toxic, so much so, her face would ZAP when she’d pass a cell tower on a walk! Anger and resentment at the world, putting spike protein on the pcr swab up Rob’s nose twice, much to Debra’s warnings, which broke the blood brain barrier and is likely to have caused the severe Alzheimer’s at 62 years old, frustrated Debra. Institutionalized, the poet, composer, lover of music and of life was reduced to diapers and strapped in a chair. So much wasted human potential. It is a Romeo and Juliette tragedy, really. He ascended quickly yet returns to let her know he is there for her in the form of a pink flamingo. She looks forward to being once again in his embrace experiencing peace, love and together offering musical, joyful assistance to Source in Heaven. Was his song, “In Heaven’s Name”, foreshadowing? Debra would love to add these songs to her album so she needs a band! And a recording studio!

In 2021, Debra Breeze also wrote a song for the occasion of joining a WOLF CLAN and has many new friends in Mexico because of this original clan. Thanks to Nino Palazollo for the driving guitar illustrating the running and panting escape from tyrannical danger. Enjoy!

Brother, Brother, by Carol King, dedicated to Wally, standing
Wally and Lorraine have been synonymous for being the hosts with the most! They have taught Debra social grace, generosity and how to travel. In 1978, Wally became Debra's father figure and still is deeply respected in her heart.
Sina, by Djavan, Soul Food to Go, by Manhattan Transfer, dedicated to Linda, standing
The one syncronicity that drilled spirituality into Debra's soul as a REAL thing, was this song! After a whole year of listening to great beats in Brazil, Debra was excited to share Sina with her musical sister upon her return. Linda too found a great song with a great rhythm that she insisted on sharing with Deb....guess what? IT WAS THE SAME SONG! Out of BILLIONS of songs worldwide, they collided on this one from across the ocean! When they sang it in English and in Portuguese, they realized the brilliance of the writer's lyrics as words flowed, had rime and rhythm that fit and a spirit of joy which made them start a tradition of dancing together in the pool with a cold drink in hand! See video below for Linda's gestures:)
There are no words to express the mutual love of these sisters. Debra gives thanks that Linda has been her guide, cheerleader, healer, friend and confidant. Linda is a true humanitarian. She misses her deeply. Bless all these brilliant souls who have shaped Debra's beautiful life.
Debra is presently looking for accompaniment on these last two songs and perhaps a few of Rob's creations AND a recording studio!!! ...

Tired of Others’ Songs

By Debra Breeze

I can write my own songs

I’ve done it twice before

I’m tired of singing others’ tunes

They’ve left me wanting more

More truth in virtue

More truth in sentiment

More truth in gratitude

More truth of mine!

I’m tired of listening to others’ truths

I’ve taken more risks, jumped out of planes,

Risked my life on surgical beds

To be healthy again!

I can live my own life now

Almost lost it thrice before!

Like a cat with nine lives

It’s not just witch folklore!

I can ditch the grasshopper

Feel into the whale

I’m more powerful than I thought

Even without a tail!

I can muse and sculpt and paint

It’s how I was born!

Forget the hardships of that “other” life

My song now, not forlorn

I’m grateful for the exotic

I’m grateful for the breeze

I’ve more love to give and now, I can receive!

So please Great Spirit, grant love’s ease!
