Family Jam & More Art

Grampa Peter, in his early 80's lost his wife to a heart attack. His kids came from Florida and California for Grandma Valerie's funeral. Surprisingly, there were no tears, the family jammed in her honour. Dad had some sheet music, but they hadn't played together in 12 years yet performed so well together on the bandstand dad built in the basement in front of the dance floor. The tapes cousin Glen recorded were stored in a box that over the years got rained on and ruined. Luckily Glen became a sound engineer at Paramount Studios and was able to clean up the sound, change these precious memories onto CD's and gift them to all the astounded cousins years later! What a treasure!

Grandpa on trombone and trumpet, dad on sax and clarinet, uncle on clarinet, aunt on piano, brother on bongos, Deb on piano once, shakers/claves, cousin Glen on taperecorder!

please find in italic why Debra matched that art with that song...

The Sound of Music, family sing song

Happiness, mixed media, 2003

Created the year of her marriage, the liveliness in which Debra's family sang Do a Deer captures the spirit of joy... Her husband got a temporary visa to Canada and could then live with her! Ah the honeymoon year!

Duet, Deb (10 yrs) and Aunt Helen,
Chopsticks with increasing tempo!
Toucans, acrylic, Costa Rica, 2012, Chopsticks is usually the first song children learn on the piano...Toucans are Debra's favourite bird because they are so multi-coloured, have a big beak like Debra and are so rare in our jungles now... The art is playful like a child and is hanging in La Pacifica Restaurant in Canas, Costa Rica. Please note the familial support and cheers for "Debbie's" effort. With headphones, she heard her grandpa say, "That's my Debbie!" Priceless!
Polish Mazurka
Spirit Isle, Maligne Lake, Alberta, acrylic, 2007

Debra loves mysteries...the energy of this island was indigenous, Haida or Nootka. The wake looks Nootka. This mazurka FEELS indigenous to Debra, having roots in Poland.

The Clarinet Polka, the Family Favourite!

Pine Bark, oil on acetate, 2001

This huge painting, Debra's first oil, is a favourite of hers as is the Clarinet Polka where she rejoices over that high C her dad reaches!!!

Tango, Beceme Mucho
Mother Pearl, acrylic, 2023
Mother Pearl is singing in the background...she loved Spanish! She loved this song!

Games People Play, solo Aunt Helen...relevant lyrics today!
Phoenix Rising, acrylic, 2024

"People never meaning what they say or saying what they mean." Treasonous politicians playing games with the slaves..."

Ballad, Release Me, sung by Aunt Helen
Angelic Vision, acrylic, 2023

Debra's claire-sentience, claire-audience and claire-voyance was "Released!" Her three amigas released Divine Protection to everyone in Debra's field...She thanks Pixie, Lori and Trish for proving the Universe has her back!

Humourous Parody Tiny Bubbles, written by Aunt Helen to Tiny Boobies!
Athena and Peon, acrylic 2021

Goddess of wisdom, warfare and handicraft...her wisdom led Debra out of the prison of allopathy and into Peon's world of homeopathy and naturopathy which cured her boobies of sepsis from the radical double mastectomy years later!

Ballad, Delila
Goddess Debra with Sword and Shield, acrylic, '21

Delila and Debra both have strong personalities...

Unknown Blues Tune
Beatrice, the Dragon and Debra's Spiritual Guides, Acrylic, Brusho Powders

Beatrice is fierce yet feminine. Her guides are White Buffalo Calf Woman, her mother, her father, Tecumseh, Krishna, Jesus, Mary, Mary Magdalene, Apostle Sandovol the saint of Sound and Music! The double infinity diamond contains where Debra places herself in value. This is where all should value themselves...like a diamond sparkling in the crux of two hearts making the infinity symbol! See Sleep-mask of copper...

Dixieland tune
Debra's 2nd Tara, the Female Buddha, acrylic, 2023 (12 layers of personality aspects)

Debra's natural disposition shows through Tara as bubbly and enthusiastic like Dixieland music!

Mexican song, Tequila!
Saraswati, acrylic, 2024

Mexican music is fun, exotic, and even more fun with some tequila! (If you're into that sort of thing!)

Somewhere My Love, theme to Dr. Zhivago
Maruata Beach, Michoacán, Mexico, acrylic, sand, 2022
Wishing Rob was with her on this virgin beach!
Dixieland, Bill Bailey
Pachamama, metallic acrylic, 2023

Bill Bailey, a Dixieland tune written in 1902! It's about a woman who threw out her man. Pachamama has her back turned on us. We let those with money pollute Mother Earth, even though there's more of us! But the butterfly is metamorphic and we can get our Eutopia back through the Law of Nature! Fire, Water, Air, Land...our bodies are all REGENERATIVE!

Cuando, Cuando Cuando?
Metatron's Cube IV, acrylic, 2024
When, when, when? What IS TIME? The wheel of wellness is represented by Metatron's Cube annually to voice a snippet of Debra's ascension progress. This was her fourth analysis of her I AM PRESENCE.

Unknown Jazz

We Can Move Mountains! Mural, acrylic, 2021

This mural, a spin off of a similar painting in Debra's portfolio, needed mountains to fortify an outreach program for the homeless in SW Ontario. The keyboard is jazzy like the song...

Ballad, Summertime

Wild Garden, acrylic, 2012

Sexy, wild tune deserves summer's imaginative flowers and movement...

Polka Beer Barrel

The Woman from Ubatuba, Brazil. Debra's first portrait in watercolour, 1994

Debra's grandma Val loved her husband's polkas! She was the impetus for the family jam!

Tango, Solo, Aunt Helen
Lion, acrylic, 2018
Love Wins, and the tango is the dance of love!

Jazz

Rafa, Costa Rica, acrylic, 2012

Debra loves jazz (but not crazy modern jazz) and jaguars! She helped move Rafa to a bigger paddock with a running brook at Rescate Las Pumas in Costa Rica. But it's more...Jaguar medicine is fierce, decisive, powerful and irreversible. Jag moves in darkness without fear, sees clearly thru chaos to evade and destroy. Its energy makes itself unavailable to negativity, gossip or ill will in any way. Enjoy this lovely piece of music by Debra's family.

Unknown, Grampa really wanted to play trumpet here!
Breeze's Three Cancer Treatment Angels, Mixed Media, palette knife only, no brush, to evoke innocence, Guatemalan Worry Dolls for every over-diagnosed woman, 2023,

The trumpet is the instrument for durges yet this song has sounds of HOPE!

Charlston
White Buffalo Calf Woman Meditation, acrylic, 2018

Just two creations together for no reason...or is there?

Tango

Mere et Fille, acrylic, 2017

Tangos are mysterious to Debra. There is a mystery as to why the word "Detachment" did not cover after a layer of turquoise paint was applied to the whole background. It was her mother insisting Debra "detach" from the grief of her passing and go to live life! She likes the play on words MARE/FILLY, Mere/Fille. It's a Mother/Daughter thang!

Cha Cha Cha
Favorite American Artist, Georgia O'Keefe's home with HER earth in pathway, hand-made paper, Albiq'ue, New Mexico, 2003

Tex/Mex flavour

Unknown polka

"ART SALE", 2021

Lots of positive energy in both places; Debra's old porch and in the song!

Prayer Painting, mixed media, 2020

sitting in silence
